The two funds

Stay Fund. The Stay Fund supports Alaizyah Stays travel, hotel stays, reviews, videos and related content expenses. This may include lodging, transportation, parking, resort or destination fees, equipment, production expenses and other reasonable costs related to creating Alaizyah Stays content.

Stay Fund money is reserved for Alaizyah Stays travel and content expenses. Expenses for the hotel ownership and acquisition project are paid from the separate Hotel Fund.

Unused money remains in the Stay Fund and carries forward to future stays and content. It never transfers to the Hotel Fund.

Hotel Fund. The Hotel Fund is reserved for the hotel ownership project and may be used for any legitimate expense involved in finding, evaluating, acquiring, financing, renovating, furnishing, preparing or opening a hotel property.

Hotel Fund money is reserved for expenses related to the hotel ownership and acquisition project. Alaizyah Stays travel and content expenses are paid from the separate Stay Fund.

Money never moves between the two funds. The database itself refuses to move a transaction from one to the other.

Some expenses — inspections, appraisals, professional advice or other due diligence — may be incurred on a property that is ultimately not purchased. That is a normal and legitimate cost of the hotel project. It is included in the Hotel Fund totals like every other transaction and is itemized in the public ledger when the entry is marked public.

The two funds have separate ledgers in the database, and a transaction cannot be moved between them. Balances are published on the funds page.

What a supporter receives

Nothing beyond our thanks. Supporting is voluntary and gratuitous. A supporter receives no ownership interest, no repayment, no profit participation, no financial return, no claim on any property that may ever be acquired, and no additional influence over decisions.

Nothing on this site is an offer to sell or a solicitation of an offer to buy any security, and nothing here should be read as describing one.

Tax

Alaizyah Stays is not a charitable organization and is not represented as one. Contributions are not represented as tax-deductible charitable donations. This site does not give tax advice and makes no claim about how any payment will be treated for anyone. Speak with your own adviser.

Voting

Voting is free. No purchase or contribution is required, and contributing money does not give anyone extra votes.

One vote per browser per poll, with rate limiting and server-side checks. This deters casual repeat voting — it is not a guarantee of uniqueness, and we do not claim it is.

Poll results guide where the next trip goes. They do not bind it: availability, cost, travel logistics and safety are the final word.

How the numbers are produced

Support arrives through external payment services. Entries are recorded by an administrator as they are reconciled, so the published balance can lag a payment by a few days. All amounts are stored as whole cents. Corrections are made by posting a reversing entry or a marked adjustment rather than by editing history, and every financial change is written to an append-only audit log.

Supporter names are not published by default. A name or alias appears only where a supporter has specifically asked for it and an administrator has marked that entry public.

Payments and refunds

This site does not collect, process or store payment card details. Every support option hands off to an external service with its own terms and its own privacy policy.

Support is sent through external payment services that this project does not operate. Whether a payment can be reversed, disputed or refunded depends entirely on that provider and its own policies — some services offer no reversal once a transfer has completed. Nothing here should be read as a promise that a contribution can be refunded.

Content and independence

Reviews reflect one person’s honest opinion of a stay. Where a stay was hosted, comped or discounted, that is stated on the stay page. Being hosted does not buy a better score.
